Steam refund policy updated to include pre-release playtime

World of Warcraft just revealed the full patch notes for Patch 10.2.7, Dark Heart, ahead of its release on May 7. The final content update of Dragonflight, this World of Warcraft patch brings new story, Heritage Armor quests, and a limited-time PvE event to the game.

Developer LocalThunk has officially released a brand-new update for Balatro, which has now gone live for all players. This patch was released in beta earlier in the year and includes a few changes that players will want to check out. Among stability improvements, updates have been made on how various Joker cards work during rounds, as well as other changes that may throw even the more experienced Balatro players for a loop.

Arrowhead Game Studios has released update 1.000.301 for Helldivers 2, bringing various crash fixes and massive performance improvements to the game. Many players have reported a dramatic decrease in performance since the last Helldivers 2 update, but it seems that the issue should now be resolved.

Bethesda has only just properly unveiled Starfield's May update, and the studio is already teasing what's next - including a proper land vehicle.

Halo Infinite has rolled out its new Banished Honor update, with developer 343 Industries making some crucial changes to the game's formula. This massive update includes a ton of new content, several bug fixes, and a multitude of features that are new to Halo Infinite.

Sea of Thieves launches on the PlayStation 5 today, and the pirate game is getting a patch packed full of new tools. In Sea of Thieves, players take up the role of a pirate crew, manning a sloop, brigantine, or galleon to go on adventures and battle nautical foes like the kraken and skeleton ships. The game’s new season introduces a ton of new toys to try on the high seas, and they’re guaranteed to cause some chaos.

I can feel some kind of sore throat bug coming on. It must be the baleful influence of Creative Assembly's latest free update for bellowing strategy bonanza Total War: Warhammer 3. Out 30th April, the update introduces Epidemius, Proctor of Pestilence - a new Nurgle Legendary Lord who gains rewards based on how many ickle diseases you’ve spread to other factions (already my favourite aspect of playing Nurgle in the game). Does Epidemius also get buffs if the player is infected by something? I hope so. It would be a consolation to know that my ailing trachea is contributing to the Nurgle cause.

Users looking to return a game on Steam may have a slightly more difficult time, as Valve recently updated the service’s refund policy to close a popular loophole involving “advanced access” titles. Steam is one of the biggest digital game retailers, offering customers a massive selection of PC titles that run the gamut from the latest triple-A releases to smaller indie fare. Of course, not everyone is going to be happy with their purchases, and Steam allows users to refund their games within 14 days of buying them, as long as they have only been played for less than two hours.
