Recent Helldivers 2 leaks give players an insight into new enemies that reportedly belong to the Illuminate faction. A couple of weeks ago, Helldivers 2's news broadcast referenced «rumors of Illuminate sightings», sneakily teasing the return of aquatic species. Besides, some eagle-eyed players claimed to have seen blue laser beams in the sky, which they think were shot by Illuminate snipers.
In recent updates, Helldivers 2 has secretly added new enemies, such as Factory Striders, Shriekers, and Automaton Gunships, which have their own abilities. Shriekers have a large wingspan that allows them to fly in the air and perform dive-bombing attacks. Factory Striders and Automaton Gunships, on the other hand, have more armor and firepower than the majority of robotic enemies. They deplete the player's health bar in seconds, requiring them to use their best loadouts to come out victorious.
Some Helldivers 2 leaks from IronS1ghts, who leaked weapon icons and in-game models of Factory Striders accurately, have revealed what the upcoming Illuminate enemies would look like. They have a lean body, specialize in different weapons, wear long dresses that cover their entire body, and carry an emblem on their chest. Both enemies boast the same head design, with a glowing eye in the middle of their faces. The mage version of these tentacle-faced Illuminate enemies bears a resemblance to Protoss from the StarCraft universe.
