The developers of Wizard With A Gun are closing down. Galvanic Games, who released the sandbox survival game last year, said that ongoing sales of the game were not enough to keep the studio going, and they'd run out of time to find funding for a new project.

Wizard with a Gun developer Galvanic Games has announced that it is shutting down. The studio launched Wizard with a Gun for PC and consoles last year, but in spite of critical acclaim, it seems the roguelite twin-stick shooter hasn’t been able to find the sort of audience that it needed to.

Galvanic Games, the developer behind the Devolver Digital-published Wizard with a Gun, has shut down, studio president and founder Patrick Morgan announced.

The Division franchise is best known for being a post-apocalyptic looter shooter, set in an alternate timeline where society collapsed due to a large-scale biological attack. Since The Division’s launch in 2016, Ubisoft’s developers have been telling a long-running story around a mysterious rogue agent. The Division 2’s most recent update includes a twist that is so implausible and goofy that it wraps all the way back around to being a work of genius.

Starship Troopers: Extermination — a first-person adaptation of the cult classic movie series — is bringing the fight to PS5 on the 11th October. Primarily a co-op, objective-based shooter, Extermination will launch with a 25-mission single-player campaign when it comes to consoles. And apparently, more single-player missions will be added post-launch.

Teamfight Tactics aka TFT is turning 5. And the birthday celebrations have begun! There are a bunch of stuff to look out for. Starting June 12th with patch 14.12 and running until July 15th, you’ll get new passes, goodies and more in the Teamfight Tactics 5th anniversary.

The free-to-play tycoon simulator/adventure RPG Shop Titans is celebrating its fifth anniversary with gifts to players. Undead Labs has re-revealed State of Decay 3 with an emotive story trailer all about the push for survival and remembering fallen comrades. The game will launch day one into Xbox Game Pass, as a first party Xbox exclusive. No release date or window was confirmed, though.

State of Decay 3 was first revealed in 2020, with a brief teaser trailer showing a survivor hunting an infected animal in a winter environment. The game went back underground after that, and Undead Labs focused on regular updates and experimental patches for State of Decay 2. At Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase, we got to see a new trailer for State of Decay 3, and it shows a much larger look at the various heroes and zombies we’ll encounter.

The rumours of a new Gears of War appearing at today’s Xbox Games Showcase were accurate - well, mostly. The next Gears of War won’t be a sequel like Gears of War 6, but instead looks to be a prequel to the entire series that returns to the very beginning of the bloody battle between humanity and the alien Locust.

Those undead just keep on coming back from the grave as Microsoft screen a new trailer for State Of Decay 3, your latest helping of sorrowful yet bloodthirsty zombie-bopping survivalism. I reviewed State Of Decay the first and thought it was a cool scrappy underdog next to larger zombie-botherers such as Left 4 Dead or DayZ. State Of Decay 2, on the other hand, I found to be disappointing - the same game with more money behind it in a way that seemed to magnify its faults. The threequel? I have tempered expectations, but I do want it to be good.

The developers have shown off the two-player update amid the summer news plague that is threatening to tear entire branches off the RPS treehouse this week. "Summoned by blood and born in corruption, this wicked new ally can join the holy Lamb in local co-op," say publishers Devolver. Ah, local co-op. Not online then. I guess this is for real-life people with real-life friends and a proper real-life sofa. Well. Good for them. I'm happy for them. Couldn't be happier. Happy happy happy.

Surprise! The next Horizon game after Zero Dawn and Forbidden West is also the next Lego game. Revealed during today's Summer games Fest showcase, Lego Horizon Adventures lets series heroine Aloy romp around with a pal in two-player co-op, and it’s coming to PC on the same day as it hits PlayStation.

Pocketpair, the developer behind surprise survival hit Palworld, announced the first expansion at Summer Games Fest 2024. The new update will include a new island, Sakurajima, which includes a Japanese-style shrine, a mushroom-laden swamp, and a scary graveyard. It’s been close to six years since BioWare and EA first officially confirmed that the next Dragon Age was in development, and at this point, we’ve still yet to see anything from the game. Leaks have claimed, however, that the fantasy RPG is set to launch this year, while EA has previously said that a reveal is scheduled for this summer– which has led many to believe that one of the upcoming showcase events could serve as the stage for the game’s formal unveiling.

It’s official — Diablo content creator Rob2628 has just cleared The Pit of Artificers Tier 150 in less than 10 minutes! Just three short weeks after the launch of Season 4, they’ve done so without using any bugs or gimmicks (*cough* Elixir of Holy Bolts *cough*)! To add to this accomplishment, Rob cleared the dungeon while in a group using his own custom Support Barbarian build that appears to take inspiration from the zDPS or “zero DPS” Barbarian builds popularized in Diablo 3’s endgame. Rob2628 on YouTube Rob2628 on Twitch Though Rob cleared this dungeon in obvious style, he had this to say about his experience completing Tier 150 of The Pit: “I certainly welcome the challenge, but the Boss fight is a huge issue frustration point.” According to Rob, the dungeon itself took only a few minutes to clear, while the end boss took nearly three times as long.

Legend of the Skyfish is a quirky, charming game where you wield a fishing pole as your weapon. It was an Apple Arcade hit and its sequel, Legend of the Skyfish 2, is now out on Android. Developed by Mgaia Studio (aka Mother Gaia Studio) and published by Crescent Moon Games, it’s up for grabs at $3.99.

Sony have dropped a trailer and release date for Concord, a new 5V5 multiplayer FPS in which you play a bunch of freegans carrying out heists (divided into six modes) on various loudly coloured alien planets. Sorry, not freegans - freegunners. Freeganism is a portmanteau of "free" and "vegan" referring to people who fish jars of near-spoiled humus out of supermarket dumpsters according to an ideology of minimal resource consumption. Freegunners, meanwhile, are lairy Guardians Of The Galaxy-alike mercenaries with phat guns and playstyle-defining secondary abilities. They do not consume humus as far as I know. The game is out 23rd August 2024, with a beta happening in July, and I've got an overview trailer for you below.

Sony has announced its upcoming PlayStation State of Play event, which has long been rumored following a comment by industry insider Jeff Grubb last month. As with many PlayStation Showcases and State of Plays, there should be a strong focus on some of Sony's first-party titles, as well as other high-profile games coming to PlayStation consoles.

PlayStation Plus is gaining a wealth of new titles as a part of the Days of Play initiative and while many subscribers will no doubt be pleased to see a classic game added to the catalog, there's a catch. As a part of Sony's push to elevate the value of its service, Sony hosts the annual Days of Play event where it dishes out some extra bonuses to users already embedded in the environment. 2024 is no different as a selection of excellent games is coming to the service in May and June.

Do you love construction games? Well, the leading construction sim franchise has dropped its fourth instalment on Android. Do you like incremental RPGs? Then you must have played Magic Research, which dropped in 2023 and turned out to be a hit. Well, the indie developer of that game, Maticolotto, is back with its sequel, Magic Research 2, on Android, Steam and iOS.

In a year already stacking up plates of delicious indie game dishes so fast they’re toppling over and crashing onto the floor, spilling splattered food over the carpet to be hoovered up by waiting dogs/cats/raccoons/mice, Animal Well is one of the most generous helpings yet. The captivating, combat-free Metroidvania is rich with a delectable buffet of challenges, puzzles and secrets to find even once you’ve seen the credits roll. Still, players have chewed their way through its more-ish platforming and puzzle-solving much faster than its solo developer intended, it turns out. Luckily for us all, creator Billy Basso is already looking ahead to a new game set in the moody zoo-niverse - even if that’s not a complete sequel.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth continued Square Enix's retelling of one of its most popular stories earlier this year, and the expected attempts to capitalize on its popularity continue. The Sims 4 is nothing if not a teetering jenga tower of updates and add-ons and DLC packs, and the latter half of 2024 will be no exception for EA's life sim king. Yesterday saw the release of an update to the base game's swimwear, kicking off the updates teased in the recently-revealed new roadmap, Season Of Love. The roadmap video's vibe is that it and its partner saw you from across the bar and wondered if you'd be interested in joining them, and it kind of weirds me out.

Elden Ring is already home to a lot of rotten creatures. Serpent snails that spit at you, ulcerated spirits with bark for skin, a big pair of hands. Now we know of another rotten creature who's going to join the roster when the Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC drops next month: a bloke who's head would make for an excellent lottery draw.

ROBOBEAT is the third one of these new-fangled rhythm FPS games I’ve played - after BPM: Bullets Per Minute and Metal: Hellsinger - and the first one I’ve actually clicked with. The concept evidently appeals to me enough to try out those other two, but I guess that I’m simply too much of a rebel-maverick-disruptor to play to the stiflingly enforced rhythms of somebody else’s drum. Something about ROBOBEAT’s roguelike shooting feels different though.

The Rogue Prince of Persia, a game that is pleasingly candid in choosing its name for a roguelite Prince of Persia spin-off, has been delayed. It turns out that developers Evil Empire - they of very good roguelite platformer Dead Cells - saw the Hades 2 train steaming down the tracks, and decided to sensibly dodge-roll out of its way.

A Fallout 4 player recently shared a funny video in which they try to fight the Swan armed solely with a Baseball Bat, only to be smashed in a single blow. Fallout 4 has many enemies, but few are as memorable as the Swan, a huge Supermutant that can squash incautious players easily.

Pinball tables are big business for collectors but this gorgeous machine themed around the mega-popular franchise may just be a little too expensive for casual fans. While mainstream audiences may recognize Pinball as being a game that's exclusively found in arcades, the hobby has become more geared toward die-hard enthusiasts in recent years. While they're still very common installments in arcades, manufacturers have found a way of appealing to high-end collectors who want to celebrate both the game and the franchise upon which it's based.

Helldivers 2 has a bunch of powerful weapons you can use to dish out some serious firepower, and just as many big beasties to use them. On the Terminid front, you'll find no foe scarier than the Bile Titan, a huge mass of pointy bits that loves nothing more than to spit massive globs of horrible goo all over players.

A few hours have passed since Apple officially unveiled the M4 and the first iPad Pro featuring the SoC has allegedly been benchmarked on Geekbench 6. Sadly, we cannot compare the single-core and multi-core scores against the M3 or the M2 because the leak revolves around the chipset’s Machine Learning performance, but that does not mean we cannot dive deep and check out its other specifications.

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Galvanic Games will release the “Better Together” update for cooperative sandbox survival game Wizard with a Gun on May 13, the companies announced. It will add four-player cooperative play to the game, which currently only supports two players.

A new developer stream for Star Wars: The Old Republic showed a surprising feature on the way in Game Update 7.5. Players will be able to earn their own farmstead on the planet of Dantooine after completing a quest chain. The cozy feature will come with a Spring Abundance festival, which includes the surprisingly comfortable activities of “seed collecting, dancing, pie-baking, animal rehabilitation, and a galactic egg hunt,” according to a press release.

A player-run troupe of actors will be performing an adaptation of Richard III in Fallout 76, featuring a "ghoul" in the lead role. They're partly inspired by the recent Fallout TV show, which puts a jaded cowboy ghoul in a pivotal role and has lead to an increase in players of the online multiplayer RPG. This production will likely be more faithful to the bard than to Amazon Prime. It will open with the lines: "Now is the nuclear winter of our discontent."

Longtime Tekken character Eddy Gordo has always been a little polarizing, particularly in Tekken 8, and one streamer has found a way to make him even more of a pain to fight, rising through ranked mode using a script that spams one button.

Kaizen Game Works, the studio behind the bangin' 2020 detective game Paradise Killer, has revealed its next game, and it sounds absolutely wild in a way that seems meticulously catered to my precise tastes.

It took a little longer than usual, but Helldivers 2's latest patch has finally dropped, giving us some new tweaks to certain weapons, an increase in difficulty for solo players, and some general balance changes. It's a pretty standard patch, but we all know how Arrowhead likes to leave the odd new addition out of the patch notes, and one such nerf seems to have hit Shield Generator Backpack users pretty hard.
