The team behind the unofficial Spider-Man 2 PC port has shared the system requirements in order to play this port in 720p, 1080p and 1440p.
A lot has been written about this unofficial PC port of Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 following a massive ransomware attack some months ago. Among other things, a PC developer build of the game leaked, and a team of modders quickly managed to reverse-engineer this build in order to get the game running on PC. Development of this unofficial PC port proceeded amazingly fast, but last month, it was announced that development on the port was stopped. Strangely enough, a couple of days after development was supposedly ceased, the unofficial PC port complete with patches dropped on the web, and users were able to fully download and play the game (albeit with a fair share of issues). At the moment of writing, the PC port is entirely playable although the port does need plenty of work.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has now comfortably surpassed 10 million units sold, accurate as of 4th February, 2024. It took the original game a little under a year to topple 13.2 million units, so this is clearly an exceptional result for the sequel. It’s also worth noting that as around 55 million PS5 consoles have been sold, approximately one-in-five bought Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ latest.

The history of superhero video games isn’t as straightforward as you might think. Like every other genre of title, there are several “great successes,” and then there are those that were just cash grabs that shouldn’t have been made. However, when Insomniac Games got the touch to make the Marvel’s Spider-Man series for PlayStation, fans had high hopes, and those hopes weren’t misplaced! When the original title came out on PS4, it was a revelation. It matched the quality and skill that Batman had gotten when Rocksteady made his original titles for his trilogy, and the sky seemed to be the limit!

Sony has seen a string of explosive critical and commercial first-party hits over the course of the last decade or so, but not many of its games have managed to achieve the level of success that the Marvel’s Spider-Man series has enjoyed.
