These issues impacted the post-launch content, as the studio had to work on getting the base game into a workable state, pushing back the development timeline.

Monster Hunter Wilds Will Push Hardware “to the Max” to “Depict a Living, Breathing World”

Inside Out 2 revives the old Pixar magic

The problem with iterating on a movie as perfectly complete as Pete Docter’s 2015 Pixar feature Inside Out is that a neatly closed narrative loop doesn’t leave a lot of obvious next steps for the story. Inside Out is half a world-building exercise in establishing an elaborate visual metaphor and testing its flexibility, half a coming-of-age story about an 11-year-old navigating a big life change. But its real point is confirming to the audience that sadness — an element that’s core to Pixar’s best movies — isn’t just an inescapable part of life, it has an important purpose. So what’s left for a sequel? Reiterating that sadness still isn’t all bad? Moving down the list of characters to express the importance of anger and fear?

Akimbot Preview: Straight Out of the PS2 Era of Platformers in All the Best Ways

Nostalgia is one of the most powerful, over-weaponized forces in the video game industry. But it also opens up avenues for cool takes on classic ideas. Hearkening back to PS2-era action platformers, Akimbot already seems like a great example of nostalgia done right. Full of homage to classics from that era like Ratchet and Clank, I had so much fun jumping, shooting, and air-dashing through an early version of Akimbot’s first level.

Lego Horizon Adventures Hitting Switch Because it’s “For Everyone,” but Crossplay is Out

Last week during the Summer Game Awards, Sony announced Lego Horizon Adventures, which, surprisingly, is coming to PC, PS5, and… Nintendo Switch. Of course, Sony has become more open to bringing their games to PC in recent years, but launching on another competing console is still very rare for PlayStation outside of the MLB The Show series where the decision was forced by MLB.

Star Wars Outlaws Developers Tease The Most Exciting Tatooine Yet

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment's has been advertised as the series' first proper open-world adventure, with its new protagonist, Kay Vess, venturing across the Outer Rim and dealing with the criminal underworld at a time when the Empire is distracted by the growing rebellion. Throughout the game's campaign, players will get the chance to visit iconic planets such as Tatooine, and while this location has often been covered since its appearance in the first movie in 1977, looks set to be the most interesting version of it yet.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 May Be The Biggest COD Ever (But In The Worst Way)

, the latest chapter in the franchise is right around the corner and based on reports, it'll be the biggest game in the franchise but in this case, that might not be such a good thing. Over the last few years, the install size for each subsequent release has ballooned, resulting in games that often require hundreds of gigabytes of free space. Given that storage has become a commodity in the current console generation thanks to more expansive AAA releases, players are becoming tired of such massive games.

Bounty Star takes Armored Core to the Wild West

More than any other subgenre in gaming, the mecha game has a very defined look. Titles like Armored Core and MechWarrior both tend to share a lot of aesthetic similarities, with rusty mechs battling in a hardened sci-fi world. The art style may change here and there, but the genre certainly has a uniform so to speak.

Playing Bella Wants Blood is satisfying in the same way pulling clogged hair from a shower drain is

In my eternal quest to describe games concisely enough that you don’t feel robbed of time you could have just watched a trailer with, I am compelled to use many of the same words and word combinations ad nauseam. So, when a game like horror tower defence Bella Wants Blood comes along and uses some odd nouns, I get all excited. Here, that’s because I get to recklessly spaff out terms like ‘Blood Gutters’, ‘The Rattler’, and your friend and mine, ‘The Stabber’. Barely an atom quivers in Bella Wants Blood that hasn’t been stylised or made odd and alluring in some way.
