Diablo 4's latest controversy leaves fans angry over the newly released Dark Pathways microtransaction content, which gives players class-specific colored portals for what many feel is a hefty asking price. The in-game shop of Diablo 4 has been a constant source of controversy ever since the popular action RPG launched in 2023. While the items on offer are typically cosmetic only, many have felt that the prices for these bundles and items are much higher than they should be, especially for an already premium AAA game that costs full price to purchase.
On top of the cosmetic gear, Diablo 4 utilizes a live-service model which includes Seasonal content and battle passes that players can also purchase a premium tier to unlock more content. While Blizzard has shown no signs of changing anything related to shop prices, new Diablo 4 bundles continue to inflame the community, including the Father's Judgment Collection bundle that launched back in November containing a new mount and horse armor for $65. While not quite as expensive as that, a new Diablo 4 bundle has left many frustrated all over again due to the asking price and what players actually receive from it.
One of the newer bundles to hit the Diablo 4 shop is the Dark Pathways bundle, a $30 purchase that essentially gives players 1000 Platinum, Diablo 4's premium currency, as well as 5 different colored portals, each one locked to their matching class. The portals themselves, while differently colored to better match each class, have subtle animation effects, such as twisting branches for the Druid or a skull that appears for Necromancers, but the overall price has left many in the community frustrated that Blizzard is charging so much for something that they believe should be included in the base game as a reward or at the very least, be much cheaper.
In a post on the Diablo 4 subreddit, players criticized Blizzard for continuing to charge players premium prices for a game that already costs full price. The 1000 Platinum currency isn't enough to offset the overall cost in many's eyes either, with the bundle still costing nearly half of the game's actual price. One player even mentioned that at that price, a player could instead purchase the hit indie game Palworld instead.
Season 3 hasn't been as smooth as Blizzard or players would have liked. After Season of the Construct launched, players found some of the content frustrating and the new Senechal construct partner underwhelming. Blizzard has made sweeping adjustments to many of the seasonal mechanics already, which have helped, though some of the upcoming Diablo 4 features have been postponed beyond their original intended release dates, like The Gauntlet and leaderboards.

Helldivers 2 has been growing in popularity ever since launch, which is both good news and bad news for developer Arrowhead Studios. While any developer out there would kill to have the player base that Helldivers 2 is currently enjoying, the unexpected explosion in popularity is currently too much for the game's servers to handle. It's forced the developers to implement a limit on how many players can log in at once, in hopes of steadying the ship while work on expanding the servers continues.
The True Detective season 4 finale premiered last night on HBO, resulting in mixed reviews, and some are more pessimistic than others. Today, after the show’s dramatic conclusion, fans of the anthology series aren’t holding back on what bothered them about the show this season.
Helldivers 2 has proven a smash hit on both Steam and PlayStation, as players fend off hordes of bugs with guns, explosions, and the kitchen sink. You'll need all of that if you want to survive, as Helldivers 2 is proving to be quite a tricky game when it comes to difficulty. Most players are making through the game with relative ease, though there is one type of mission that is proving a little too chaotic for players to deal with.
Persona 3 Reload is the fanciest and flashiest version of the few iterations of the game already out there, but depending on who you ask, it may not be the definitive way to experience the game. That's because Kotone - the female main character from Persona 3 Portable also lovingly referred to by fans as FeMC - isn't included in Reload, and probably won't be added as DLC in the future.
With Activision Blizzard now officially part of Xbox, it was obviously going to be only a matter of time before its games started appearing on Game Pass. That process is set to kick off on March 28, with Diablo 4 being the first game to join the service– but though the action RPG is joining the service’s catalog, it turns out not all subscribers are going to be able to dive in.
Apex Legends has released the new Performance mode for current-gen consoles, but some players have reported a disappointing visual experience when using the feature. Performance mode, which introduced a 120hz option for players on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, came as part of the Season 20 update for Apex Legends that dropped on February 13.
The use of bots has once again sparked a debate in the Fortnite community, with several expressing their disappointment towards the game for still using them despite the humongous player base. The issue is in fact not just confined to the use of bots in Fortnite, but also underlines a much larger matchmaking issue that fans have been demanding changes to for quite a while now.
Overwatch 2's new Season 9 update has made some significant changes to the projectile sizes of many heroes, and some fans are not happy. This is only one of the major changes introduced with Overwatch 2's newest update.
Palworld is a pretty fantastic game, all things considered, but it's definitely not the most polished one. That's mostly because the game is still in early access, and developer Pocket Pair is using the period to iron out game-breaking bugs, such as Lifmunk Effigies reducing your capture rate, before its full release later down the line.
Former Dead Cells lead designer, Sébastien Benard, strongly criticized Motion Twin's decision to leave the game behind. The development studio behind the roguelike Dead Cells recently announced its decision to cease future updates for the game, surprising some fans, along with one of its former co-creators.
